Women of many status of the society gathered that Sunday 1st of March at the hotel Augusta esplanade in Bonaberi Douala under the umbrella of the first women empowerment seminar organized by the Association of Female Alliance Network (AFAN) under the theme THE REAWAKENING OF THE WOMAN. the Cameroon landscape today is crowded by a whole lot of women who have lost everything following the 8 years long anglophone crisis and will soon constitute a social burden if nothing serious is done. Some of the young girls have unwillingly delft into prostitution for the search of a daily bread. Women with children stilled ask many questions as to where life is leading them.
It can be said without fear that the president and founder of the association came in timely like a messier with her new initiative to save a lot of lives. In their last seminar, it was obvious that a lot of women needed a shoulder to lean on. The initiative permitted women to express themselves. They were very happy to have robbed minds with their peers, created new contacts and obviously learned a number of skills.
Like a crowd puller that she has always been, AFAN’s CEO Leyuga Beatrice left no stone unturned to bring in refined resource persons that could make a turnaround in the lives of their fellow women who were craving with the desire to learn something new that could lead them to a new down.

Among the speakers of the day, Mrs Solange Tambe, senior accountant took a lot of time to prepare the minds of the attendees to the life changing workshop that awaited them right ahead. It did not take a lengthy lecture for the women to realize that they did not waste their time by answering to the call from AFAN.
Because women are always call to couple up with as wifves, and that there is always a desire of harmony, there must be a marriage counselor who fortunately came in this case and council both the married and the unmarried. “I was very impressed to notice the keen attention of the participants especially the young single once” Mrs Wepsi Francisca the marriage councilor said. She thought the women how to carry themselves along to keep their respect, how to uphold their dignity as women and a whole lot of other tit bits a wife or a would-be wife will need.
Furthermore, the women learned how to become entrepreneur from very low capital with Mrs Shain Caliprime Ngang, This will lead them to financial autonomy alleviate poverty and pull them out of the street. “ we have noticed that entrepreneurship is one of the domain that a lot of women are still left dragging behind, but we have to let them know that nobody will be coming to save us so we have to learn one or two things so we can save ourselves” she said. She did not conclude without underlining that she will be able to assess the women in the next seminar. Mrs Ngang said that the women could kick start a liquid soap business with the soap manufacturing skill they were just thought by one of the resource person. It is not very difficult to make the soap, it is not expensive or difficult to get the raw material and soap is necessities everywhere people are found. So it just takes a little effort to make the contacts and get the potential customers. At the end of the exercise, the entire participant happily went home with a litter of liquid soap each.

In addition to soap making the women learned how to bake cake. This is another lucrative domain since a majority of parties nowadays do not end without cake cutting. A lot of questions came in from the assistance showing their interest in the activity they are studying. And the tasting of the cake was another joyous moment of the evening, with the entire participant asking when the next seminar will be taking place. “It is a great seminar. T0day we have learned a lot. It is a seminar aimed at teaching us practical things that can change our lives” Mrs Aline Bih said, promising to bring along her friends in the next seminar.
“A woman can become whatever she wants to become but she needs the society and her brain need to work. We need a situation where we drift from school to skill and from hard work to smart work. We are not saying that school is not important but we need to blend the acquisitions from school with some know how in order to build a good woman. Also we want to eradicate the idea in the women’s mind that you have to lean on a man in other to become something. We would want to underline that nobody has ever died from starting small. We are not talking here of hundreds of thousands but we are talking of a capital as low as ten thousand. Just get the packaging and the connection, and you will move the next stage” the initiator of the women helping initiative Leyouga Beatrice Fonyoga said, talking to the press. She was all smiles seeing the turnout at just the first attempt. Expressing optimism for the upcoming seminars, she said will still have a hand full of skills to offer her peers.
AFAN’s CEO Mrs Leyouga Beeatrice Fonyonga like a crowd puller that she has always been left no stone unturned to bring in refined resource persons that could make a turn over in the lives of their fellow women craving with the desire.
