When an agonizing mind in a desert crossing period in their lives meets with a listening ear, the perspective of an Eden is nearby. The Association of Female Alliance Network does not pretend to solve all women’s problems at a go, but it intends to start somewhere.
A woman of substance, full of foresight and mental strength, with a mind as beautiful as her face, Leyouga Beatrice Fonyonga felt the pains of her peers, most of whom from the 8 year war turn Anglophone region with less than 500 frs CFA to live on per day. With no one to turn to and nowhere else to go, some of them who are younger had resolutely decided to use what they have to get what they need: then bumped in she, like manner that fell from heaven with a fruitful initiative, the Association of Female Alliance Network (AFAN), that will transform their pains to gain and their sadness to happiness.

The Balli native from the North West Region of Cameroon in creating this association had in mind to teach the young girls and women alike some skills and bring them together so they can network and market their product. Hence killing idleness, erasing prostitution and pulling them away from dependency for a better society. “we are struggling to get a lot of young girls and women off the street. Because ever since the heat of the Anglophone crisis, a lot has happened. There was a lot of mishap in the cities where the women ran to, in the likes of Douala, Limbe, Bafousssam, Yaoundé, just to name a few”
With no external help, the philanthropist minded Leyuga did not fear to dig deep into her own resources to wipe the tears of her fellow women. Not going to give them bread, but calling them to come and learn how to bake bread. That was the reason for the work shop she decided to organize in Bonaberi Douala this 1st March 2025 at the eve of the 69th edition of the international women’s day.
